Green Bay Rockers News Release
Ashwaubenon, Wis. - Despite missing the Northwoods League playoffs and being unable to defend their title, there was a lot of good to take away from the Rockers' 2026 season.
Firstly, the 2026 Rockers tied the franchise's record for most wins in back-to-back seasons with 81, tying the 2010-2011 Green Bay Bullfrog squads. The 2026 Rockers were looking to be the first team in franchise history to make it back-to-back 40-win seasons, but they fell one win short.
Two single-season records were broken or tied this last year for Green Bay. Aidan Kuni (New Mexico) set the Rockers' single-season walk record with 53, appearing in just 43 games for the Rockers. He bested Eric Jeon's record of 42 from a year prior. Kuni finished his Rocker career with 79 walks in 82 games. Kuni finished 5th in the Northwoods League in total walks, 3rd in the Great Lakes division, and first of all Great Lakes West participants
Coleman Lewis (Georgia Tech) was the other, who tied the Rockers single-season record for home runs with 12, hitting his twelfth and final bomb in the second-to-last game in Madison against the Mallards. Lewis is now in a three-way tie for the single-season record with Jake Bold and Nick Harms, who were both a part of the record-setting 2024 Rocker squad, which, up until this season, had the most home runs by any team with 81.
As a team, the Rockers held one of the better offenses in the Northwoods League, finishing 7th in runs, 2nd in home runs, 7th in RBIs, 3rd in BBs, 5th in OBP, 5th in SLG, and 4th in OPS. Much of the offense was aided by high production from an abundance of Rocker hitters, including three hitters, David Ballenilla (SIU-Edwardsville), Eli Selga (Campbellsville), and Lewis, totaling more than 40 or more hits each. Additionally, both Lewis and Ballenilla drove in 40 or more runs each.
On the pitching side, the summer was highlighted by two standout arms, one an All-Star from the first half of the season, and the second a full-season iron man who led the team in innings pitched and strikeouts.
Holden Harris (New Mexico), a 2026 Northwoods League All-Star, posted a 1.69 ERA in 10 appearances, with 28 strikeouts to just seven walks. His 17.1 innings were stellar, as he allowed just one earned run all season. Despite being unable to pitch in the All-Star game due to weather, Harris' first half led the Rockers to many big wins over the first 35 games.
Zach Tenn (Hawai'i Pacific) showed up to Green Bay on June 7th and stayed for the rest of the Rockers' season. Tenn pitched 38 innings in total, posting a 4.97 ERA and a 1.47 WHIP. His appearances only got better as time went on, including four appearances of allowing two earned runs or less. As mentioned above, Tenn led the squad in strikeouts, with 35, compared to just 15 walks.
Finally, second-year field manager Josh Merrill also eclipsed some milestones this year. With an almost entirely new-look staff next to him on the field, Merrill led his squad to 39 wins, crossing the 50, 60, 70, and 80 career regular-season win marks as the Rockers skipper. Including the postseason, Merrill has 85 career wins at the helm in Green Bay.
The Rockers will begin their 21st season as a franchise in Green Bay next May, with a chance to chase their 3rd title in the last five seasons.
