
Stingers Rebound with 8-3 Win over Larks

Willmar, Minn. - The Stingers post a convincing 8-3 win over the Larks on Tuesday night.
Drey Dirksen kicked off the scoring in the bottom of the third with a two-run double to right center. In the fourth, Daniel Sayre knocked in a run on a fielder's choice, then advanced to third on a wild throw to second on a stolen base attempt, which scored Carter Howell. Dirksen capped off the frame with a three-run homer to left. In the sixth, Kaden Hopson notched his first hit and second RBI in a Stingers uniform.
Jack Zigan pitched well on the mound tonight. He threw seven innings of one-run ball, giving up three hits and two walks, and striking out five. He improves to 2-2 on the season.
The Stingers, as the Beetles, will play Bismarck in Game 2 of the series in Alexandria, Minn. on Thursday night. First pitch from Knute Nelson Stadium is set for 7:05 p.m.
