EVERETT, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs rallied from down 3-0 in the third period to eek out a 4-3 shootout victory at Angel of the Winds Arena Friday night.

It took until the second period for the game's first goal, as Raphael Pelletier buried a wraparound try for his second goal as a Silvertip and 13th of the season at 10:12 in the frame.

The Silvertips built a 3-0 cushion in the third period, with Ben Hemmerling and Austin Roest both finding the back of the net within the first seven minutes of play. Spokane mounted a comeback, beginning at 10:36 with a Cade Hayes goal. Berkley Catton brought the Chiefs to within one just 16 seconds later. Hayes tapped in a backdoor pass at 15:22 to tie the game, sending it to extra time.

After a scoreless overtime, Spokane scored four times in five rounds in the shootout, with Chase Bertholet scoring the eventual game-decider in the bottom of the fifth round.

Cooper Michaluk stopped 47 of 50 in regulation and overtime, plus two of five in the shootout win for Spokane. Palmer saved 23 of 26 and one of five shootout attempts.

The Silvertips return home Friday, March 3 for a home matchup against the Portland Winterhawks. The first 1,000 fans receive a Silvertips hat, courtesy of Seatown. Then on Saturday, March 4, the Tips host the Seattle Thunderbirds for Navy Night. Tickets for both contests are available.
