Last Game: The Wheat Kings were grounded by the Lethbridge Hurricanes 3-1 Friday night. A couple bad bounces in the 2nd period was the difference with Blake Swetlikoff scoring a pair of goals for the Hurricanes. Hurricanes over age goaltender Bryan Thomson stopped 30 of 31 Wheat Kings shots earning 2nd star of the game. The lone goal for the Wheat Kings was a first period powerplay goal scored by Calder Anderson.
Feb 18th VS Swift Current : The Wheat King close out their season series in a crucial matchup versus the Broncos. The last time these two clubs met was only 4 days ago when the Wheat Kings were unable to hit the elusive .500 mark after suffering a 7-5 loss to the Swift Current Broncos.. It was a see-saw battle between the two clubs who each gave up leads but in the end it was the Broncos who had the last laugh scoring four 3rd period goals to comeback and pick up the win. For the Wheat Kings Brett Hyland earned 2nd star after picking up a pair of goals, Nate Danielson & Calder Anderson each picked up 3 points in the loss. The Broncos are also well rested after not playing Friday night.
