Pats Show Valiant Effort in 7-4 Loss to ICE

Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats showed off a valiant effort in a 7-4 loss to the CHL's number one ranked Winnipeg ICE in front of a crowd of 6,017 on Saturday inside the Brandt Centre on Cancer Awareness Night.

The Pats had a 1-0 lead after one and a 3-2 lead after two before the ICE completed the comeback with four unanswered goals in the third period. Connor Bedard tallied three points (1G-2A), Brayden Barnett scored his first in 48 games and Sam Oremba tallied his seventh of the season in the loss. Kelton Pyne did all that he could to limit the Winnipeg offence, making 26 saves.

For the ICE, they extended their winning-streak to six straight while playing the second game of their 10-game road trip. Zack Ostapchuk finished with three points (2G-1A) and Matthew Savoie scored twice. Conor Geekie, Connor McClennon and Evan Friesen rounded out the scoring for the ICE. Daniel Hauser improved to 10-0 lifetime against the Pats, making 27 saves.
