
Chiefs Hit the Road to Face Vancouver Giants Friday Night

Langley, B.C. - The Spokane Chiefs hit the road to face the Vancouver Giants Friday night in the third of four match-ups between the teams this season. They last played each other Saturday, January 7 at Spokane Arena when the Giants came away with a close 2-1 victory. It was Chase Bertholet who got the Chiefs on the board early in the third period with his team-leading 16th goal of the year. Cade Hayes and 2006-born defenseman Nathan Mayes (AP) earned assists on the play, marking Mayes' first WHL career point.
2003-born winger Ty Cheveldayoff has six points in the last five games (2G-4A) and is just five points shy of doubling his season total from last year. Bertholet has five points in the last five games (3G-2A) and is averaging 1.11 points per game. Overage forward Hayes has four points in the last five games (1G-3A) and is currently on a 4-game point streak. Overage defenseman Mac Gross also has a goal and three assists in the last five games and has passed his 2021-22 totals (5G-9A this year, 3G-8A last year). Rookie Berkly Catton has four points in the last five games (3G-1A).
