Nolan Ritchie came out of the game with one goal and one assist and Nate Danielson's team leading 22nd of the year extended his point streak to 9 games.
Jan 14th VS Moose Jaw: The Wheat Kings homestand continues when they take on the Moose Jaw Warriors tonight. These two clubs met back to back New Years Eve weekend when the Wheat Kings defeated the Warriors 11-2 in Moose Jaw and then lost the next night in Brandon by a score of 6-2. The Warriors head into this game coming off a big 4-2 win over the Portland Winterhawks. The Warriors have won 3 of their last 6 games and are looking at getting on track to keep up with the Red Deer Rebels and Saskatoon Blades for the #2 and #3 spots in the Eastern Conference standings.
New Alternate Captains: Wheat Kings Coaching Staff announced Saturday morning that Quinn Mantei & Logen Hammett have been named Alternate Captains for the remainder of the season. This fills the vacancy left from Jake Chiasson & Mason Ward being dealt at the Trade Deadline. When the Wheat Kings wear Home White's the Captain will be Nolan Ritchie, with alternates Brett Hyland, Nate Danielson & Logen Hammett. When the Wheat Kings wear their road black jerseys the Captain will be Nate Danielson, with alternates Nolan Ritchie, Calder Anderson & Quinn Mantei.
Central Scouting: Nate Danielson & Carson Bjarnason made the NHL's Central Scouting List in the Mid Term Rankings but there's a new Wheat King emerging in the 2nd half and that's blue liner Quinn Mantei. The Weyburn, SK native has improved over the past two months and is ranked #153 among North American skaters. Danielson is ranked #13 in that same category and Carson Bjarnason is ranked #1 among North American goalies.
