
Pats Host Blades on Friday

Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats host the Saskatoon Blades on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. inside the Brandt Centre.
Tonight marks the third game of this four game homestand at the Brandt Centre, and the first of back-to-back games on home ice this weekend.
The Pats are coming off a thrilling 6-2 win over the Calgary Hitmen on Sunday, snapping the teams three game losing-streak. Connor Bedard scored a career high six points (4G-2A) and tied his career high with four goals on-route to the clubs 19th victory of the season. The Pats also got goals from Alexander Suzdalev (1G-1A) and Tanner Howe (1G-1A) as well as a two assist performance from Tanner Brown.
Drew Sim was key in net, making 42 saves on 44 shots in the win, as he improved to 15-10-1 on the season. The Pats finished the game 3-5 on their power play and 7-7 on the penalty kill.
Meanwhile, the Saskatoon Blades are coming off a 3-1 loss to the Portland Winterhawks on Wednesday, as they have now dropped five of their last six contests coming in (1-2-3-0 last six games). The contest on Wednesday against Portland was tied at one after one, with Vaughn Watterodt scoring the Blades tying goal. Portland would score in the second and late in the third to seal it. The final shots were 29-20 for Saskatoon. The Blades were 3-3 on their penalty kill and 1-5 on their power play.
They are still third in the Eastern Conference with 55 points, which is five points ahead of the fourth place Moose Jaw Warriors. They have 32 games remaining in the second-half, with 15 at home and 17 on the road.

HEADLINES
Pats defenceman Stanislav Svozil is expected to return to the Pats lineup today, as he comes back to the Queen City from the World Juniors. The Prerov, CZE product has posted 37 points (5G-32A) in 28 games with the Pats this season and is coming off a World Juniors tournament where he tallied eight points (1G-7A) in seven games, winning silver with Czechia.
The Pats made two moves ahead of the Trade Deadline on Tuesday, acquiring 2005 D Omen Harmacy from the Winnipeg ICE for 2003 F Easton Armstrong while also acquiring 2003 F Steel Quiring from the Everett Silvertips for a 2026 fourth-round pick.
