Checkers Top Syracuse for Seventh Straight Road Win
October 27, 2018 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Charlotte Checkers News Release
SYRACUSE, NY - The Checkers continue to be unmatched away from home, beating the Syracuse Crunch 6-3 to move to 7-0-0 on the road.
Despite hopping out to a two-goal lead early on in regulation, the Checkers found themselves in a tie game less than a minute into the second as the Crunch notched a pair of tallies on the power play. Julien Gauthier would pound home a feed from Janne Kuokkanen to break that deadlock minutes later, and that would spark the Charlotte offense.
The Checkers would reestablish their advantage by pumping in three more from that point, lifting them to an AHL-best 8-1-0 this season.
Alex Nedeljkovic returned to the crease after a two-game break and came away with another victory, stopping 23 pucks and picking up an assist on Clark Bishop's late empty netter.
