Checkers Receive Defenseman Murray From Wolf Pack

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League have assigned defenseman Chris Murray to the Charlotte Checkers.

Murray, 6-feet-2, 185 pounds, hails from Dover, Mass. and is a four year product of the University of New Hampshire. Murray has skated in 12 games this year for the Wolf Pack, contributing four assists and registering 19 penalty minutes and a +4. Last season, Murray skated in 45 games with the Phoenix Roadrunners garnering one goal and 13 assists for 14 points with 122 penalty minutes. He also spent time with the Lake Erie Monsters, Springfield Falcons and Albany River Rats of the AHL during the 2007-08 season. He is expected in the lineup tonight for the Checkers as they battle the South Carolina Stingrays at Time Warner Cable Arena at 7 p.m.

The Checkers are getting ready for their 16th season of play as a member of the ECHL. The next home game will take place on Nov. 19 against the South Carolina Stingrays at 7:00 p.m. start. In the team's 15-year history, the Checkers have made the playoffs 11 times including four consecutive playoff appearances to date.
