November 19, 2008 - ECHL (ECHL)
Phoenix RoadRunners News Release
PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the San Jose Sharks and the Worcester Sharks, announced today that forward Dan DaSilva has been loaned to the team from Worcester of the American Hockey League.
DaSilva, 23, collected an assist and 19 penalty minutes in three games with the Sharks. The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native signed a contract with the RoadRunners on Sep. 23, before later agreeing to an AHL/ECHL contract with Worcester.
DaSilva appeared in 54 games with the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League last season and collected nine goals and 23 points. The Monsters are the primary affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche.
DaSilva has amassed 23 goals, 25 assists, 48 points and 129 penalty minutes in 125 career AHL games with Lake Erie, Albany, Lowell, and Worcester since turning pro in 2005. The fourth-year professional also tallied five goals and eight points during a brief four-game stint in 2005-06 with the San Diego Gulls of the ECHL.
DaSilva's return marks the second time in his career that he will skate for an Arizona-based club. He recorded nine goals and 22 points in 14 games with the Arizona Sundogs of the Central Hockey League during the Sundogs' inaugural 2006-07 season.
DaSilva registered 30 goals or more in consecutive seasons with the Portland Winter Hawks of the Western Hockey League. He has posted 37 goals, 40 assists, and 77 points in 140 career games.
The RoadRunners continue a three-game home-stand at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday when they welcome the Bakersfield Condors for the opener of a two-game series.
