WHEELING, W. Va. (November 19, 2008) - The Trenton Devils were shutout on the road against the Wheeling Nailers Wednesday night, 4-0. It was the first the time Devils were shutout since March 30, 2008.

Tommy Goebel put the Nailers on the board 6:14 into the game with a shot from the slot. With 2:15 left to play in the first, Jon Grecu scored his first professional goal from the same location to give the Nailers at two-goal lead at the break.

Although the Devils stepped up their play in the second, Nailers goaltender Curtis Darling befuddled them throughout the night, making 32 saves in his second career shutout against Trenton.

The Nailers put the game away late in the third with goals by Elgin Reid and Andrew Lord.

Goebel led the way for the Nailers with a three-point night, while Lord and Matt Grennier had two points apiece.

The power play was ice cold for both teams, as Trenton went 0-for-6 and Wheeling was scoreless in seven attempts.

The Trenton Devils return home to play the Elmira Jackals Friday night at 7:30 p.m. Fans can listen or watch the broadcast on www.trentondevils.com, courtesy of B2 Networks.
