Bombers Fall 4-3 At Gwinnett In Overtime

Duluth, GA -- The Bombers let a 3-1 lead in the third slip away and lose to the Gwinnett Gladiators in overtime 4-3.

Dayton took a 1-0 lead at 2:44 of the first when Jarret Lukin scored his 6th goal of the year with assists to Nino Musitelli and Mike McLean. The Gladiators came back to tie it on a shorthanded goal by Jordan Fox at 6:03.

The Bombers scored a pair of second period goals, first Musitelli his sixth of the year at 6:55 (from McLean and Jamie Dowhayko) and then a shorthander by Danny Lapointe (his second) from Ryan Smyth at 18:24. It was 3-1 after two.

Gwinnett game back to score two in the third by Bryan Esner (2:11) and Pat Bateman (4:30) to send it to the five minute overtime.

With 1:08 left, in the OT, Jordan Fox was officially credited with putting the game winner home for a 4-3 win. The Bombers salvage a point for the overtime loss.

Dayton goaltender Paul Drew knocked away 42 of 46 shots.

Dayton will play Gwinnett again Friday night at 7:35 in the second game of the southern road trip.
