Jackals Loan O'Keefe, Trade St. Croix

Elmira, NY- Sitting on a 7-5-0-1 record, the Elmira Jackals have entertained the American Hockey League with eight call ups. Today the Jackals announce that number moves to nine with loaning of Mitch O'Keefe to the Binghamton Senators. The Jackals also made a move on the blue line trading Chris St. Croix to Las Vegas for centers Chris Korchinski and Paul McIlveen.

Mitch O'Keefe rides a 5-2 record with a 3.01 goals against average and a .904 save percentage. O'Keefe last saw action in the 3-2 shoot out win over Cincinnati on Friday, November 7th at US Bank Arena. Mitch turned away 28 of 30 shots enroot to his fifth win of the season. Since then O'Keefe has been battling a lower leg injury. This is his second call up to Binghamton this season.

The Jackals traded defenseman Chris St. Croix to the Las Vegas Wranglers in return for centers Chris Korchinski and Paul McIlveen. In eight games played for the Jackals, St. Croix scored one goal and added two assists for three points. Korchinski netted three points (2G 1 A) in nine games played for the Wranglers. McIlveen also sits on three points (1G 2 A) in eight games played for the South Carolina Stingrays.

Chris Korchinski, the native of Rama, Saskatchewan spent last season with the Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League where he collected 23 goals and 30 assists for 53 points in 64 games. He was equally as good in the playoffs netting seven goals and adding four assists for 11 points in 11 games. The 6'0'' 215 pounder played his junior hockey with the Yorkton Terriers of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. In his final season he netted 33 goals and 46 assists for 79 points.

Like Korchinksi, McIlveen also had an impressive senior season of junior hockey scoring 89 points in 68 games for the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Last season the 5'11'' 190 pound native of Waterloo, Ontario racked up 34 points (11G 23 A) in 57 games for the South Carolina Stingrays.

UP NEXT: The Jackals hit the road for a two game weekend this weekend when they travel to Trenton on Friday evening for a bout with the Devils. Face-off is set for 7:30 p.m. On Saturday evening the Jackals head to Reading for a rumble with the Royals at 7:05 p.m. Both games can be heard on the Jackals Hockey Radio Network (WOKN 99.5 Elmira, 102.5 Corning and WVIN 98.3 Bath). The Hill Top Inn Count Down to Face-off kicks off 20 minutes before each face-off with the "Voice" of the Jackals Nick Hulberg.
