
Captains to Send Two Players and Coaching Staff to the Midwest League All Star Game

(Eastlake, OH) - The Midwest League has announced their mid-season All Star teams and the Lake County Captains have two representatives on the Eastern Division squad. Second baseman Claudio Bautista will join pitcher Justus Sheffield at the 51st Midwest League All Star Classic on June 23 at Dozer Park in Peoria, IL, which is the home of the Peoria Chiefs.
Captains Manager Shaun Larkin will manage the East squad and will be joined by Pitching Coach Steve Karsay, Hitting Coach Larry Day and Athletic Trainer Matthew Beauregard.
Bautista, 21, from Nizao, Dominican Republic, was signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Cleveland Indians in the 2011. He is 6th in the league in batting average (.317), 5th in hits (59) and 5th in total bases (87). He is the only Captain hitting over .300 on the season.
Sheffield (4-1, 4.34), a 19 year old left-hander out of Tullahoma, TN was the Cleveland Indians 1st round pick (31st overall) in the 2014 draft. Sheffield has made 10 starts and is tied for 7th in the league with 54 strikeouts and is among the league leaders in fewest walks allowed for a starter with only 12.
