ABOUT LAST NIGHT: The TinCaps let a 7-1 lead slip away in an eventual 8-7 loss to Beloit. The Snappers won in walk-off fashion, scoring three times in the ninth after there were two outs and no one on base and the number nine hitter up.
MWL ALL-STARS: On Thursday afternoon, the Midwest League announced the rosters for the 51st annual All-Star Classic in Peoria on June 23. Outfielder Nick Torres and starting pitcher Thomas Dorminy were both named to the Eastern Division team. Entering tonight, Torres leads the TinCaps in runs (32), hits (54), doubles (15), total bases (79), on-base percentage (.366), and batting average (.307). TOP 25 IN MiLB MERCHANDISE SALES: SportsBusiness Journal reported Wednesday that for the sixth consecutive year, the TinCaps have been one of Minor League Baseball's Top 25 best-selling brands. SANTOS SLAM: First baseman Trae Santos hit Fort Wayne's first grand slam of 2015 in the third inning on Wednesday. For Santos, it was his team-leading seventh long ball this season. Santos has hit six of those homers since May 11 - tied for the fifth most in the Minors in that span. If you go back to May 1, Santos has 19 extra-base hits - tied for third most in MiLB since that date.
BAD LOSS: The last time Fort Wayne lost a game in which they led by six or more runs was July 30, 2013. On that day, the TinCaps were up 8-1 through four innings before eventually losing, 10-9.
STREAK ENDS: The TinCaps bullpen had gone 24 consecutive innings over five games without allowing a run before giving up three runs in the ninth inning on Wednesday.
