
3 Dragons Picked to Play in MWL All-Star Game

South Bend, Ind.-Richard A. Nussbaum II, President of the Midwest League of Professional Baseball Clubs, Inc., today announced the 2015 All-Star Game Rosters. The All-Stars were nominated and selected by the Field Managers of the Midwest League. The Peoria Chiefs are hosting the 51st MWL All-Star Classic on June 23, 2015 at Dozer Park, Peoria, Illinois.
Three members of the Dayton Dragons were selected to play in the game. They include starting pitchers Tyler Mahle and Tejay Antone along with reliever Brian Hunter.
Mahle has made 11 starts for the Dragons this season, going 5-3 with a 2.63 earned run average. In 65 innings, he has walked nine and struck out 62. The 20-year-old native of Westminster, California is in his third season of professional baseball. He was selected by the Reds in the seventh round of the 2013 draft.
Antone has made 10 starts for the Dragons, posting a record of 3-4 with a 2.18 ERA that ranks seventh in the league. In 57.2 innings, he has walked nine and struck out 47. He is a 21-year-old native of Mansfield, Texas. He was a fifth round draft pick by the Reds in 2014 out of Weatherford College in Texas.
Hunter has made 17 relief appearances for the Dragons, going 4-2 with a 2.31 ERA and five saves. He has struck out 29 batters in 23.2 innings. He is 21 years old and a native of Port Jefferson Station, New York. He was drafted by the Reds in the ninth round in 2014 out of the University of Hartford.
The Dragons continue a six-game road trip tonight in Clinton, Iowa against the Clinton Lumber Kings at 7:30 p.m. (EDT). The next home game is Wednesday, June 10 vs. the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers at Fifth Third Field.
