
Half-Dozen Cougars Selected for Midwest League All-Star Game

GENEVA, Ill. - The Midwest League has announced the rosters for the 2015 Midwest League All-Star Game, which will be held on Tuesday evening, June 23 in Peoria at 7 p.m. Six Cougars players have been selected to represent the Western Division squad: outfielder Colin Bray, infielders Marty Herum and Cody Regis, and pitchers Ethan Elias, Cody Geyer and Markus Solbach. Bray was selected a starting outfielder for the Western Division.
A pair of Cougars starting pitchers have been duly recognized for their first half excellence in Elias and Solbach. Elias is 6th among Midwest League starters with a 2.08 ERA and currently holds a 5-2 record. Solbach's 2.43 ERA is 8th-best in the league. Geyer has appeared in 19 games (tied for the league lead) and holds a 1.48 ERA out of the Cougars' bullpen.
Bray has been one of the best defensive outfielders in the league this season and is batting .254 with 13 RBI. Herum, a 2014 Midwest League All-Star last season, is 10th in the league with a .310 batting average and 3rd in the league with 62 hits. Regis has hit safely in 36 of 47 games this season.
Past Kane County Cougars who have been named Midwest League All-Stars include notable names to baseball fans such as Miguel Cabrera ('01 Cougar), Adrian Gonzalez ('01), Kevin Millar ('94), Charles Johnson ('93) and Gregg Zaun ('91).
