
Bulls Topple Stripers 6-4

DURHAM, NC - MLB rehabber Francisco Mejia mashed two hits, including a 2-run homer, designated hitter Nick Dini went yard, left fielder Niko Hulsizer recorded a 431 ft homer and first baseman Tristan Gray knocked a 2-run double in Durham's 6-4 victory over the Gwinnett Stripers on Friday evening at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
Mejia started the Bulls off with his 2-run homer in the opening frame, followed by Dini's solo shot to left field. Gwinnett LF Magneuris Sierra scored on a sacrifice fly before DH Daniel Robertson knocked a 3-run homer to give the Stripers a 4-3 lead. Hulsizer tied the game with his long shot in the bottom-fifth, succeeded by Gray's 2-run double to secure the 6-4 win.
Bulls starter Nathan Wiles (7.0 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 1 BB, 7 SO) earned the victory, supported by Javy Guerra (2.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 SO) with two scoreless innings of work. Stripers starter Dylan Dodd (6.0 IP, 6 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 1 BB, 4 SO) suffered the defeat. The victory marked the sixth consecutive win for the Bulls.
The two teams are set to continue their six-game series on Saturday night, with first pitch scheduled for 6:35pm.
