
Bulldogs win over Admirals

Hamilton, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Norfolk Admirals 6-3 at Copps Coliseum for their fourth win in a row which sets a new franchise record for winning streak to start a season. Mike Glumac and Matt D'Agostini each tallied two goals and Marc Denis made 39 saves in the win.
The Bulldogs drew first blood when D'Agostini tallied his first goal of the season at 11:59 of the first frame. Yanick Lehoux sent the puck to D'Agostini, who rifled a shot past the glove of Norfolk starting goaltender Karri Ramo. Pavel Valentenko also earned an assist on the play.
Norfolk took the lead on a pair of goals 13 seconds apart in the middle stanza. Brandon Segal collected the puck inside the right circle before firing a wrist shot over the right shoulder of Denis at 18:00. Radek Smolenak made the game 2-1 after receiving the puck from Brandon Bochenski and blasting a shot past a sliding Denis at 18:13.
D'Agostini and Glumac regained the lead for Hamilton in the final frame. D'Agostini tied the game 2-2 with his second goal of the game at 2:02. D'Agostini ripped the puck past Ramo from the slot after receiving a pass from Brock Trotter. Glumac gave the 'Dogs the lead at 5:57 with his second goal of the season. Glumac grabbed a David Desharnais rebound from in front of the net, before banging the puck to the back of the net.
The Bulldogs added two more goals in the third period to increase their lead to 5-2. Glumac hammered away at Ramo's pads to slip the puck into the back of the net at 9:54 and earn his second goal of the game. Weber fired a wrist shot from the top left face-off circle, which beat Ramo on the glove side.
At the 14-minute mark Norfolk tried to get back into the game when Segal potted his second goal of the game. Smolenak and Paul Szczechura also earned assists on the play.
Ryan Russel sealed the win for Hamilton with an empty net marker scored at 18:45 of the third period. Alex Henry assisted on the goal, earning his first point of the season.
