Blues Recall Goaltender Marek Schwarz

St. Louis, Mo. (October 18, 2008) -St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today that the club has recalled goaltender Marek Schwarz from the Blues' American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen. Peoria has recalled Chris Holt from Alaska to join the Rivermen.

Schwarz, 22, has appeared in one game for the Rivermen this season, posting a 0-1-0 record along with a .839 goals against average. He appeared in 34 games with the Rivermen last season, posting a 14-14-2 record along with a 2.79 goals against average.

The Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic native was originally drafted as the Blues first round selection, 17th overall in the 2004 Entry Draft.

Holt, 23, spent the preseason with the Rivermen before being assigned to the Alaska Aces of the ECHL. He did not appear in a game with the Aces. Over the past three seasons, Holt has appeared in 24 AHL games as a member of the Hartford Wolfpack and posted a 10-6-1 record and a 2.98 goals-against average.

The Rivermen travel to Chicago tonight to meet the Wolves for the first time this season. The game can be heard live on Hippie Radio 101.1FM or online at www.rivermen.net. The team will return to Carver Arena on Oct. 25 to battle the Lake Erie Monsters in a two-game series. Game time is set for 7pm on Saturday with the rematch scheduled for the following afternoon at 3pm.
