Bulldogs Make It 11 Straight Road Wins

Marcel Hossa scored with just 48 seconds remaining in regulation time to lift the Hamilton Bulldogs to a 3-2 victory over the River Rats in Albany (AHL affililate of the New Jersey Devils) on Friday night. The victory was the Bulldogs' eleventh straight on the road. Hamilton is now just two road wins shy of tying a AHL record for consecutive road wins (13).

The Bulldogs have now reached the half way mark of the season and have an earned an incredible record of 29 wins, 6 losses, 3 ties and 2 overtime losses. Hamilton continues to lead the AHL with 63 points on the season.

Also with the win, Hamilton extended their unbeaten streak to a franchise best fifteen games.

The Bulldogs have the AHL's best road record as they have earned 16 wins, 4 losses, 0 ties and 1 overtime loss on the season.

On Friday night Hamilton had goals from Hossa, Michael Ryder and Tomas Plekanec. Scoring for the River Rats were Krisjanis Redlihs and Jason Lehoux.

In goal, Canadian AHL All-Star starting goaltender Mathieu Garon stopped 22 of 24 Albany shots. Ari Ahonen made 36 saves for the the River Rats.

Friday night's game in Albany was delayed approximately a half hour due to poor ice conditions.
