Laredo Bucks News Release

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks, in conjunction with the Central Hockey League, announced Wednesday that goaltender Sebastien Centomo has been named to the CHL All-Star Team as a reserve. This marks the second straight All-Star selection for Centomo, and his third overall.

The All-Star reserves were chosen by Co-Coaches Doug Sauter (OKC), and Paul Gillis (ODE). The CHL All-Stars will take on the host Colorado Eagles on January 14th at the Budweiser Event Center.

Centomo is among the CHL goaltending leaders in several categories this season. Centomo is third in wins (11), and save percentage (.923), and fifth in minutes (1121:51), and goals against average (2.46), as well as tied for second with one shutout (Nov. 15 vs. Bossier).

The Laval, Quebec Native is 11-7-1 this season in net for Laredo.

On November 17th Centomo was voted CHL Goaltender of the Week, for his 4-0 shutout of Bossier-Shreveport on November 15th at the LEC. Centomo stopped all 30 Mudbug shots to earn the shutout.

Centomo's two other All-Star selections came when he was a member of the Riverkings organization, during last season, and the 2001-02 campaign.

Last season Centomo went 18-9-3, with a 2.51 G.A.A, and a .915 sv%, while posting three shutouts. In his rookie campaign in 2001-02, Centomo went 16-1 for Memphis, with a 2.09 G.A.A, and a .934 sv%, to earn his first All-Star nod along with Rookie of the Year Honors.

In six of his 19 games in net this season, Centomo has given up one goal or less.

In two games this season, both against the Killer Bees, Centomo has stopped over 40 shots and suffered the hard luck loss. On November 1 Centomo stopped 45 of 47 shots, but lost 3-1, and on December 22nd he set aside 42 of 43 shots and fell 1-0.

The other All-Star reserves along with Centomo are, forwards Travis Clayton (BOS), Jeff Christian (TUL), Chris Richards (CRP), Daymen Rycroft (RKM), Jason Duda (WIC), Louis Dumont (MISS), Dominic Leveille (ODE), and defensemen Nicholas Dumoulin (RGV), Tyler Fleck (OKC), Russ Moyer (ODE), and Aaron MacInnis (NMX).

Laredo, Oklahoma City, and Odessa are the only teams with two All-Star Selections each.
