
Bruins skate to third straight win

Providence, RI -- The Providence Bruins won their third consecutive game on Friday night at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Providence, skating to a 3-2 victory over the Springfield Falcons. The Bruins are 6-0-0-1 in their last seven games, taking 13 of a possible 14 points over that span. Providence is 15-10-2-3 (35 points), putting them in a tie for third place in the Atlantic Division standings with the Worcester IceCats.
Providence forwards Andy Hilbert (14), David Gove (5) and Tomas Kurka (1) each scored for the Bruins. Kurka, who was making his Bruin debut, notched the game-winning goal. Hilbert also had an assist, and has moved past former Bruin Cameron Mann into fourth place on the franchise career scoring list with 78-83-161 totals in 185 career games.
Bruin goaltender Hannu Toivonen stopped 36 shots to improve his record to 12-9-1.
The Bruins visit the Hartford Wolf Pack on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. The action will be broadcast live on WDDZ AM-550 and online at www.providencebruins.com.
The Bruins return home to host the Lowell Lock Monsters on Sunday, December 26 at 4:05 p.m., and Hartford on Monday, December 27 at 7:05 p.m.
