Barons Gain Third Consecutive Victory

CLEVELAND OH – Dimitri Patzold stopped 20 shots as the Barons defeated the San Antonio Rampage Friday night for their third consecutive win. The Barons dominated offensively, posting 46 shots on goal for the night.

Cleveland's Grant Stevenson scored the first goal of the game, a power play goal at 3:53 of the first period. The goal was assisted by Tim Conboy and Doug Murray, who returned from injury after missing 20 of the previous 21 games. San Antonio responded with a power play strike by Juraj Kolnik exactly two minutes later. Kolnik's goal was assisted by Ryan Jardine and Stephen Weiss. San Antonio took the lead 14:25 into the first period when Josh Olson netted his second goal of the season, with assists by Kolnik and Petr Taticek.

Conboy scored his first professional goal at 11:40 of the second period to tie the game at 2-2. Patrick Rissmiller and Riley Armstrong were credited with assists on that goal. The Barons dominated the session out-shooting San Antonio 19-10.

The Barons took the lead in the third off a power play goal by center Josh Prudden, assisted by Rissmiller and Jim Fahey at 13:51 of the period to secure the victory. The goal was Prudden's second game-winning goal in as many games. With a two-point night, Rissmiller surpassed Chad Wiseman on the Barons all-time scoring list into second place (103 pts). Miroslav Zalesak is currently the all-time Barons leading scorer with 166 points.

The Barons will play tomorrow in Grand Rapids before returning to National City Rink at Gund Arena on Wednesday December 22nd to play the Grand Rapids Griffins. Fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to the game for a donation to the Cleveland Food Bank.
