Eric Beaudoin had two goals and an assist for San Antonio in a 3-2 win at Milwaukee... On Thursday, Mike Smith turned aside 33 shots as Houston shut out Norfolk at the Toyota Center, 2-0.

LOOKING AHEAD:
The top two teams in the AHL collide at the Wachovia Spectrum on Friday night, as Manchester takes on Philadelphia in the Monarchs' first stop on a three-game weekend swing through Pennsylvania... The teams are a combined 41-8-2-1 this season, scoring 194 goals and allowing 108 between them... Mike Cammalleri has recorded a point in 24 of 26 games this season for the Monarchs; Yanick Lehoux has a point in 23 of 26... Patrick Sharp has two goals and six assists in his last four games for the Phantoms... Philadelphia goaltender Antero Niittymaki is 23-5-1 on home ice (regular season) in calendar year 2004.
Hamilton can make a move in the North Division with four nationally televised games in six days, including two at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg this weekend... The Bulldogs, tied for sixth place in the North, have won three in a row to close the gap on the division leaders, with rookie Corey Locke picking up five points in the three games... The Moose come into this series on their own three-game winning streak... Defenseman Johnathan Aitken has recorded a point in five straight matches after tallying just one assist in his first 17... Hamilton is 20-9-1 all-time against Manitoba.
Lowell hopes to continue its winning ways against in-state rivals Worcester (Friday, Saturday) and Springfield (Sunday)... The Lock Monsters have won four straight and six of seven, and enter the weekend with a 14-8-1-1 record and games in hand on the rest of the division... Lowell boasts four first-round draft picks on its roster: goaltenders Brent Krahn and Cam Ward, who have combined for five shutouts in the team's last 11 outings; Eric Staal, who leads the club with 27 points and a plus-15 rating; and Chuck Kobasew, with a team-high 14 goals on the year, to go with 10 points in six games against the IceCats and Falcons.
