K-Wings Handout their Team Awards on Fan Appreciation Night
Kalamazoo, MI-The Kalamazoo Wings of the United Hockey League announce the winners of their team awards for the 2002-2003 season. The awards were presented following the K-Wings home finale tonight against the Port Huron Beacons at Wings Stadium.
The following were the awards and the recipients of the K-Wings Awards Ceremony:
Richard and Shirley Lewis Booster Club Member of the Year: Leo and Mike Calkins
Booster Club Appreciation Award: Mark Lawrence
KOHA Plus-Minus Award: Chad Dameworth
Keyser Insurance Agency Leading Scorer Award: Peter Roed
Otten Trophies Star of the Game Award: Kurt Miller
Meijer Most Improved Player Award: Pat O'Leary
Smirnoff Ice Sportsmanship Award: Dan Hodge
Kalsee Credit Union Unsung Hero Award: Mark Vilneff
Fifth Third Bank Defenseman of the Year Award: Chad Dameworth
Canney's Water Conditioning Rookie of the Year Award: Tyson Turgeon
WLKM Most Popular Player Award: Charlie Elezi
Kalamazoo Gazette MVP Award: Chad Alban
While the K-Wings have no more home games this season, Kalamazoo still has two more games remaining in their season. The K-Wings will travel to both Quad City (3/29), and Missouri (3/30) for games this weekend. K-Wings fans can tune their radio to the K-Wings Radio Network (WLKM 95.9 FM, WQSN 1660 AM, and WRCC 1400 AM) for complete coverage of both games with "The Voice of the K-Wings" Mike Modugno starting 15 minutes before game time with the Basic Communications Pre-Game Show. Radio coverage starts at 7:45 PM on Saturday, and 7:00 PM on Sunday.
