Countdown to Face-off Kalamazoo Wings @ Quad City Mallards The MARK of the Quad Cities Moline, IL Saturday, March 29, 2003 7:00 PM (CST)

Game Preview The K-Wings will battle Quad City one last time this season as they travel to Quad City tonight. Kalamazoo has just two games remaining including tonight's game, but continue to play for pride and demonstrate dedication to the K-Wings name. The Mallards have a secured spot in the Colonial Cup Playoffs and have clinched the division title for the seventh straight season.

The K-Wings will be looking to win their season series against the Mallards. Kalamazoo is 4-4-0 against Quad City this season, however the K-Wings are 1-3-0 in Moline. Tonight will also be family reunion for both teams, as tonight will mark the first time since their trade, that both Lubos Velebny and Michael Ford have played against their old teams.

Vilneff Reaches 600 K-Wings Defenseman Mark Vilneff will reach a personal milestone tonight. With his first shift of the game, Vilneff will reach the 600 game plateau. Currently, Mark ranks third all-time in the UHL in games played behind Scott Feasby (Muskegon), and Jim Duhart (Flint). . Rubber Match Tonight is the ninth meeting of the season between the K-Wings and the Mallards. So far on the year, the K-Wings are 4-4-0 against the Mallards, however, they are 1-3-0 in Moline, Illinois.

K-Wings Hand Out the Hardware After last night's game against Port Huron, the K-Wings handed out their team awards. The following were the winners of this season team awards: -KOHA Plus-Minus Award: Chad Dameworth -Keyser Insurance Agency Leading Scorer Award: Peter Roed -Otten Trophies Star of the Game Award: Kurt Miller -Meijer Most Improved Player Award: Pat O'Leary -Smirnoff Ice Sportsmanship Award: Dan Hodge -Kalsee Credit Union Unsung Hero Award: Mark Vilneff -Fifth Third Bank Defenseman of the Year Award: Chad Dameworth -Canney's Water Conditioning Rookie of the Year Award: Tyson Turgeon -WLKM Most Popular Player Award: Charlie Elezi -Kalamazoo Gazette MVP Award: Chad Alban

Streak Comes to an End With Jason Brown starting last night for Kalamazoo, Chad Alban's streak for consecutive games came to an end. Going into last night's game, Alban has appeared in 38 straight games, including 37 straight starts.
