Chiefs Beat Wheeling 6-4

Johnstown, PA- The Johnstown Chiefs snapped their four game winless skid Saturday night, with a 6-4 win over the Wheeling Nailers in front of 2,984 at the War Memorial.

Jeff Sullivan, Shawn Mather, Shaun Sutter, and Sam St. Pierre each had a goal and an assist for the Chiefs. Jason Shmyr and P.L. Courchesne also tallied for the Chiefs. Bobby Russell scored two goals for the Nailers.

Chiefs goaltender Mark Scally made 28 saves for his 5th win of the season. Tyler MacKay started the game for Wheeling, allowing 4 goals and making 6 saves. Mike Valley came in relief of MacKay in the second period, making 12 saves, and allowing two goals.

The Chiefs improve to 28-32-11, while Wheeling is now 28-40-3.

The Chiefs wrap up the 2002-2003 season tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 p.m. when they host the Cincinnati Cyclones. The game is also Fan Appreciation Day.
