
Boyes leads P-Bruins to victory

The Providence Bruins and Springfield Falcons met in the seventh game of their 10-game season series on Friday night at the Dunkin' Donuts Center, with the Bruins taking a 3-2 decision. The Black and Gold is in fourth place in the Atlantic Division with its 30-24-10-3 record (73 points). The Bruins are 5-1-1-0 against Springfield this season.
Bruin center Brad Boyes tallied his 27th and 28th goals of the season, including the game-winning goal in the third period. He leads the team with 28-37-65 totals in 65 games, and has 3-2-5 totals in four games with the team since his acquisition on March 9.
Left wing Ivan Huml added his 15th goal of the season, on his team-leading ninth power play goal of the year. Center Andre Savage had an assist on the goal, tying him with former Bruin Tim Sweeney for second on the franchise career scoring list. Savage has 71-101-172 totals in 183 career games as a Bruin. Former Bruin and current Nashville Predators forward Sergei Zholtok is the all-time leader with 186 points in 196 games from 1992-95.
Rookie goaltender Hannu Toivonen stopped 21 shots and is now 15-14-4 on the season.
The Bruins visit the Manchester Monarchs on Saturday night at 7:35 p.m., as the teams conclude their 10-game season series. All the action will be broadcast live on WDDZ AM-550.
The Bruins return home to host the Portland Pirates on Sunday, March 21 at 4:05 p.m. Fans will have the opportunity to see the Calder Cup, as it makes its annual tour around the AHL. The Calder Cup will be on display on the concourse behind Section 101, beginning at 3:00 p.m.
