Jackman Reassigned to Syracuse

Syracuse, NY (March 19, 2004) – The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have reassigned right wing Tim Jackman to Syracuse. The team also announced that they have signed right wing Steven Goertzen and center Peter Zingoni to amateur try-out contracts.

Jackman, 22, has appeared in 51 games with Syracuse this season, recording 19 goals, 13 assists and 37 penalty minutes. In 16 games with Columbus this season, Jackman has recorded 1 goal, 1 assist and 12 penalty minutes. A native of Minot, North Dakota, Jackman was drafted by Columbus with their second choice, 38th overall, in the 2001 Entry Draft.

Goertzen, 19, appeared in 69 games with Seattle (WHL) this season, recording 15 goals, 18 assists and 115 penalty minutes. In 206 career games with Seattle, Goertzen has registered 33 goals, 46 assists and 255 penalty minutes. A native of Stony Plane, Alberta, Goertzen was selected by Columbus in the seventh round, 225th overall, in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.

Zingoni, 22, appeared in 36 games with Providence College (HE) this season, recording 13 goals, 19 assists and 54 penalty minutes. In 127 career games with Providence College, Zingoni tallied 34 goals, 47 assists and 135 penalty minutes. A native of Newtown, Connecticut, Zingoni was selected by Columbus in the eighth round, 231st overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

The Crunch hosts Manitoba tonight for a 7:30 p.m. game. On Saturday, March 20, Syracuse hosts Rochester.
