Pittsburgh Penguins Reassign Matt Hussey and Martin Brochu to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton

WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Pittsburgh Penguins today reassigned forward Matt Hussey and goaltender Martin Brochu to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. The announcement was made by Penguins' General Manager Craig Patrick.

Hussey, 24, appeared in two games with the Penguins and scored two goals. He was recalled on an emergency basis for forward Aleksey Morozov on March 16 and made his NHL debut later that night vs. Washington. Hussey scored his first NHL goal (power play goal) at 8:07 of the second period in the Pens' 4-1 win.

The 6'2", 212-pound native of New Haven, CT has appeared in 53 games this season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, recording three points (2+1) and six penalty minutes.

Brochu, 31, appeared in one game for the Penguins, allowing one goal in 33 minutes March 17 at New Jersey. Brochu has appeared in 13 games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season, posting a 3-8-1 record with a 2.75 goals against average and .902 save percentage. In nine contests with Wheeling (ECHL), Brochu has posted a 6-2-1-1 record with a 2.65 goals against average and .900 save percentage.

Brochu was recalled on an emergency basis for goaltender Jean-Sebastien Aubin on March 13.

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (30-26-8-5, 73 points, Third-Place, East Division, Eastern Conference) visit the Philadelphia Phantoms (38-23-6-1; 83 points, T-First-Place, East Division, Eastern Conference) tonight at 7:05 p.m. at the Wachovia Spectrum.
