Augusta Lynx News Release
ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president & general manager Craig Brush along with head coach Gerry Fleming announced today that forward Sean Stefanski has been traded to the Augusta Lynx of the ECHL for future considerations.
Stefanski, 26, heads to Augusta after skating in 33 games with the Everblades, notching seven points (1g, 6a) and picking up 47 penalty minutes. The rookie tallied his first professional point on December 30 vs. Gwinnett, then notched his first pro goal the next night also against the Gladiators.
Stefanski joined the Everblades after spending the 2004-05 season with Lakehead Univeristy in Thunder Bay Ontario, where he picked up nine points (3g, 6a) in 19 games. Prior to last season, the Peterborough, Ontario native spent the previous four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with six different clubs. Stefanski split the 2003-04 campaign between Sault-Ste. Marie and Sudbury, beginning the season with Sault-Ste. Marie by scoring a goal and an assist in four games, then finishing the year with 33 points (14g, 19a) in 59 games with Sudbury. The Peterborough, Ont. native put together his best numbers at the junior level in 2002-03 when he tallied 48 points (22g, 26a) and picked up 151 penalty minutes in 64 games with the Sault-Ste. Marie Greyhounds. During his junior career, Stefanski also skated with Oshawa (2000-02) Owen Sound (2001) and Kingston (2002).
In a separate move, the Everblades saw forward Vince Bellissimo recalled to the American Hockey League by the Lowell Lock Monsters. The 23-year-old Bellissimo returns to the AHL after collecting six points (3g, 3a) in six games with the Everblades this season. During his previous stints with Lowell this year, the Toronto, Ontario native has scored 14 points (8g, 6a) in 45 games.
