
Royals Kompon Extends Scoring Streak To 25 Games

PRINCETON, N.J. - Mike Kompon returned to the Reading Royals lineup for the
first time since Feb. 7 on Wednesday and scored a goal to extend his
scoring streak to 25 games which is the fourth-longest consecutive scoring
streak in ECHL history.
The Royals host Toledo on Friday before traveling to Dayton on Saturday and
Johnstown on Sunday.
The three longest scoring streaks in league history are 38 games by Trevor
Jobe of Nashville from Dec. 19, 1992-Mar. 14, 1993, 35 games by Brian
Martin of Hampton Roads from Oct. 30, 1990-Jan. 18, 1991 and 32 games by
Jamey Hicks of Birmingham from Dec. 30, 1997-Mar. 7, 1998.
The Thunder Bay, Ontario native has a seven-game home assist streak (9a),
which is tied for the longest active home assist streak, and he has a
13-game home scoring streak (21 points), which is the second-longest active
home scoring streak and the third-longest home scoring streak of the
season.
He has a 12-game road scoring streak (19 points) which is the longest
active road scoring streak and tied for the second-longest road scoring
streak of the season. The 5-foot-10 and 185-pound Kompon, who has been
playing for Binghamton in the American Hockey League, has 40 points
(8g-32a) during the streak which has 12 multiple-point games, including 10
games with two assists and one game with two goals.
In his second professional season, the 24-year-old leads Reading with 41
assists, 55 points, 18 power-play assists and 24 power-play points in 38
games, and he has three assists in 11 games with Binghamton and one goal in
three games with Hershey. He has a 10-game assist streak (14a) which ties
the longest assist streak in the league this season set by Alex Leavitt of
Alaska from Dec. 16-Jan. 10 (16a) and tied by Daniel Sisca of Florida from
Dec. 9-30 (15a).
