
Blades' Shake Up Lineup After Holiday Break

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president & general manager Craig Brush, along with head coach Gerry Fleming announced today that forward Dustin Johner was assigned to the team from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League. In addition, the Everblades activated defenseman Ryan Brindley from the injured reserve list, and placed forward Brandon Coalter on the IR.
Johner returns to the Everblades after skating in four games with the Americans, without registering a point. Johner, who was acquired by the Florida Panthers in a trade with the Calgary Flames on December 2, saw action in five games with the Everblades scoring three goals and adding five assists prior to his call-up on Dec. 17. Overall this season Johner has 12 points (5g, 7a) in 14 ECHL games with Florida and Las Vegas. The 22-year-old has also appeared in five games this season at the AHL level with the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights.
In 2004-05, The Sylvan Lake Alberta native led Las Vegas with 48 points (22g, 26a) in 51 games. The former 6th round draft pick of the Florida Panthers in 2001 also spent 23 games in the AHL with the Lowell Lock Monsters last season, notching 12 points (4g, 8a). Johner made his professional debut in 2003-04 with the South Carolina Stingrays, skating in four games, collecting six points.
In separate moves, the Everblades activated Brindley from the 7-day IR. Brindley has collected 14 points (3g, 11a) in 19 games with the âBlades this season. Coalter returns to the IR after being placed on the 7-day list. As per team policy the injury was not disclosed. Coalter has seen action in 17 games this season, picking up one goal and five assists.
The Everblades return to action tonight when they take on the Augusta Lynx at 7:05 p.m. from the Augusta-Richmond County Civic Center in Augusta, GA. Everblades 2005-06 group tickets and individual game tickets are on sale now!
