Ice Pilots Are Home For The Holidays With Five Straight Home Games

Pensacola, FL - The Ice Pilots are "Home for the Holidays" beginning this Wednesday night vs. Florida at 7:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots will be home for five straight home games beginning this Wednesday night vs. Florida at 7:05 p.m. It is Family Night. Kids 12 and under get in free with a paid adult. Fans will be able to skate with the team after the game in a Post Game Skate with the Ice Pilots' players. Admission to skate with the team after the game and skate rental is $8.

The Ice Pilots host the Charlotte Checkers this Friday and Saturday night (New Year's Eve) at 7:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots will raise the Brabham Cup Championship banner on Friday and the first 2,000 fans will receive mini replic a 2004-2005 Brabham Cup Championship banners. Bryson Busniuk and Pete Gardiner will also sign autographs after the game. The first 1,000 fans will receive a 2006 calendar at Saturday's home game.

The Ice Pilots will host Florida again on Tuesday, January 3 at 7:05 p.m. and every fan attending the Ice Pilots home game vs. Gwinnett on Friday, January 6 will receive a 2005-2006 Ice Pilots team photo.

Ice Pilots try to revenge loses last week vs. Florida: The Ice Pilots had a lead of 2-0 after the first period in both games vs. Florida last Wednesday and Thursday. Florida won both games by scores of 5-2 and 5-3. Brendan Cook and Pete Gardiner scored goals for the Ice Pilots in Wednesday's game. Pete Gardiner, Corey Neilson and Steven Later scored goals for the Ice Pilots in Thursday's game. Frederic Cloutier was in goal for the Ice Pilots on Wednesday night and Todd Ford played in goal for the Ice Pilots on Thursday.

The Ice Pilots have a record of 6-2 in their last ei ght home games and have an overall record of 10-13-3 for 23 points.

Ice Pilots away game on Tuesday, January 10 at South Carolina changed to a 9:30 a.m. central time face off. Jr. Mascot Contest: The Ice Pilots are looking for a new mascot to go along with Iceman. The Ice Pilots are having a Jr. Mascot contest to select the new character and name. Fans are asked to draw a character of a mascot and give it a name. Ice Pilots are Title Sponsor of Independence for the Blind "Eye Ball" The Pensacola Ice Pilots are proud to be the title sponsor for the Independence of the Blind of West Florida's "Eye Ball" that will t ake place on Friday, January 20, 2006 at the Hilton Garden Inn on Pensacola Beach.

The Pensacola Community Foundation will donate $7,500 for the title sponsorship plus donate two tickets per guest for an Ice Pilots game on January 21 vs. Gwinnett at 7:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots will also donate an autographed team jersey for a silent auction and announcements will be made at Ice Pilots home games about the "Eye Ball."

The event will be chaired by WEAR TV 3's Sue Straughn and will include fine dining, dancing and live and silent auctions which will benefit Independence for the Blind. Tentative Practice Schedule this week: The Ice Pilots will have Monday off and will practice on Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m. The Ice Pil ots will have a pre skate on Wednesday at 10 a.m. and play home to Flo rida on Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots will practice on Thursday at 10 a.m. The Ice Pilots will have a pre skate on both Friday and Saturday at 10 a.m. and play host to Charlotte on both Friday and Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots will have Sunday off.

Dodge Player of the Week: Forward Pete Gardiner has been nominated for the ECHL Player of the Week for scoring 2 goals and 2 assists for 4 points in the two games vs. Florida last week. Frederic Cloutier has been nominated for the ECHL Goalie of the Week. Cloutier stopped 34 out of 38 shots in the 5-2 loss vs. Florida last Wednesday night. Forward Pete Gardiner has been named the Dodge Player of the Week.

Fans will be able to vote for three forwards, two defenseman, one goalie and one coach who have played and coached for the Ice Pilots since the Ice Pilots inaugural season. The voting will end on February 21, 2006. The New York Nick's/Ice Pilots Ten Year Anniversary Team presented by the Pensacola News Journal will be announced on March 17 when the Ice Pilots play host to the South Carolina Stingrays at 7:05 p.m.
