WEEKLY SUMMARY: The Johnstown Chiefs (9-12-7) went 1-0-0 heading into the holiday break. The Chiefs beat the Charlotte Checkers last Tuesday, 3-2. The Chiefs will end their break this Friday in Trenton. The Chiefs are 2-1-3 against the Titans, but have won the last two meetings, allowing just one goal. On Saturday, the City of Johnstown will kick off its annual New Year¡¦s Eve celebrations with the Chiefs game at 6pm against the Columbia Inferno. The Inferno defeated the Chiefs in Columbia in the first game of the season, 4-2.

Game #27 (12/27/05) JOHNSTOWN 3 ¡V Charlotte 2 Cey 31 Saves The Chiefs outlasted the Charlotte Checkers last Tuesday, 3-2. The Chiefs jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals by Gerard Dicaire and Adam Henrich. It was Dicaire¡¦s second goal of the year, and Henrich¡¦s 6th. Justin Kelly assisted on both goals. Checker forward, Jake Ortmeyer made it 2-1 in the 2nd period, but Dmitri Tarabrin scored his third of the year to make it 3-1. Justin Kelly picked up his third assist of the game. The Checkers, on a goal by Brandon Cullen, closed to 3-2, but would get no closer as the Chiefs suffocated the Charlotte attack in the final minutes.

UPCOMING OPPONENTS: Friday, December 30 at Trenton 7:30 p.m. Radio: WNTJ 850-AM, WNTW 990-AM, www.johnstownchiefs.com and www.b2now.com The Chiefs travel to Trenton Friday. The Chiefs trail the Titans by just three points in the ECHL¡¦s North division. The Chiefs have won the past two games against the Titans by a combined score, 6-1.

Saturday, December 31 vs. Columbia 6:00 p.m. Radio: WNTJ 850-AM, WNTW 990-AM, www.johnstownchiefs.com and www.b2now.com he Chiefs will face the Columbia Inferno in a rematch of opening night. On opening night the Chiefs lead 2-0, then 2-1 entering the third period, before falling 4-2. Jason Spence had a goal and an assist in the contest.
