GOOD FIRST IMPRESSION: The Saskatoon Blades began their weekend double-header with a 3-2 victory Saturday over the Brandon Wheat Kings at SaskTel Centre. The Blue and Gold are now three points shy of their fifth 100-point season with three games remaining. They sit third in the Eastern Conference at 46-14-4-1 still awaiting who their first-round opponent will be.
CHADDY SHINES: Goalie Ethan Chadwick was lights out after surrendering two goals late in the first period. The Saskatoon, SK. product stopped 23 shots all together, 20 of which came in final 40-minutes. Chadwick's record jumps to 22-9-1-1 with a .900 save-percentage.
DROUGHT OVER: Forward Justin Lies scored his first goal in 26 games which ended up being the game winner. The 6-foot-2 winger tucked home his eighth goal of the season and registered his 21st point.
NEXT GAME: The boys play in front of the biggest crowd in Saskatoon Blades history tomorrow afternoon when they welcome Connor Bedard and the Regina Pats.
More than 15,000 spectators are expected for the potential first-round matchup guaranteeing a wild atmosphere Blade City has never seen.
