Florida Everblades News Release

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Gerry Fleming announced today that defenseman Bret Nasby has been activated off the 30-day injured reserve list.

The 20-year-old rookie will crack the Everblades lineup for the first time this season when he makes his professional debut against the Charlotte Checkers tonight. The Grimsby, Ontario native makes his pro debut after spending the past three seasons at the junior level with Oshawa and Erie of the Ontario Hockey League.

Nasby, a 5th round draft pick by the Florida Panthers in 2004, split last season between the Oshawa Generals and the Erie Otters, beginning the year with 14 points (5g, 9a) in 20 games with Oshawa before completing the season with 17 points (4g, 13a) in 32 games with the Otters. The 6-foot-3, 190 pound blue liner totaled 55 points in 174 career OHL games.

The Florida Everblades, proud affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes and the Florida Panthers, return to action tonight when they take on the Charlotte Checkers from Charlotte Bobcats Arena in Charlotte, NC at 7:30 p.m. The Everblades' next home game is Tuesday, November 28 vs. the Texas Wildcatters.
