STOCKTON, Calif. - Kimbi Daniels buried the equalizer with 42.7 seconds left in regulation and goaltender Isaac Reichmuth took over in the ensuing shootout, stopping four of five Stockton attempts in a 3-2 Alaska victory in front of 6,326 at Stockton Arena.

For the fifth consecutive game, Alaska's vaunted penalty killing unit surrendered a power play goal, as Steve Slonina flipped a backhander past Reichmuth at 4:04 of the first period. The score remained 1-0 in favor of Stockton for nearly 38 minutes, with each team managing 12 shots on goal in a scoreless second period.

Kevin Croxton tipped home a centering pass from Corbin Schmidt two minutes into the final period to forge a 1-1 tie, but a Schmidt penalty later in the period would prove costly. The Thunder converted the power play as Brendan Hodge scored on a wrist shot from the left circle with 5:21 remaining. After struggling mightily simply to clear the puck out of their own zone, the Aces pulled Reichmuth in the game's final minute and Gino Guyer found an opening along the right boards.

Daniels took a drop pass from Julian Talbot and whistled a snap shot past Stockton goalie Devan Dubnyk from the right circle to force overtime. Alaska dominated OT, firing six shots to the Thunder's two, but eventually had to survive a shootout, as Reichmuth, who finished with 31 saves in 65 minutes, was beaten on Stockton's first attempt but then stopped four in a row. Olivier Filion scored in the third round and Barrett Heisten notched the game-winner in the fifth to give the Aces their fourth consecutive road victory.

Alaska, now 8-6 and owners of second place (by pct. points) in the West Division, travels immediately back to Bakersfield, where the Aces and Condors (7-5-1) will meet tomorrow night for the sixth time in Alaska's first 15 games at 6:00 p.m. AST. The Aces have a 3-2 record in the previous five match-ups, and have beaten the Condors by a score of 6-1 in each of the last two games at Bakersfield. Live coverage on KFQD 750 AM begins 15 minutes prior to the opening face-off.
