Today's Game

This afternoon, the Bisons host the Rochester Red Wings for the final two games of a five-game in three-day series at Coca-Cola Field (G1: 12:35 p.m.). The Herd is 2-1 against the Wings in the series as the clubs split a twinbill on Tuesday and Buffalo won 6-5 last night. The Bisons did not gain any ground with their victory and still trail Columbus by 4.5 games for the IL's lone wild card spot.

vs. the Red Wings

The Bisons and Red Wings have split their 12 contests so far this season. The teams will square off for the final time in a three games next week at Frontier Field, August 17-19. With last night's win, the Herd (15-10) took a one-game lead on Rochester in the 2015 Thruway Cup standings.

Jeff Francis

LHP JEFF FRANCIS has allow just six runs in 58.0 innings since the beginning of June. The veteran has not allowed more than two runs in any start this year, including six innings of two-run baseball last Saturday in Gwinnett. Since the All-Star break, Francis is 1-0 with a 0.45 ERA in three starts with 11 strikeouts in 20.0 innings of work.

Phillippe Aumont

RHP PHILLIPPE AUMONT makes his third Bisons start today. The righty took the loss in Gwinnett last Friday after allowing four runs in four innings. While pitching for Lehigh Valley, Aumont allowed just three runs in six innings in a loss to the Red Wings on June 3.

INF MATT HAGUE now has 154 hits on the season -T5th most in a single season in the Bisons modern era. Hague continues to pace the International League in average (.345), RBI (80), on-base pct. (.428) and total bases (212). Only seven Bisons' teammates have played as many games this year as Hague has multi-hit performances (50).

Awesome Augusts

INF ANDY BURNS had a home run and four RBI last night. He is now hitting .438 (14-32) with six RBI and five runs scored in August. Not far behind, OF ALEX HASSAN has averaged .379 (11-29) with five extra-base hits and six RBI in nine games this month.

Bisons Bits

OF DALTON POMPEY has scored 25 runs in his last 24 games...Today's doubleheader is currently the last on the Bisons 2015 schedule.

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (63-52) earned their 10th straight win with a 10-3 thumping of Oakland last night. Toronto has claimed 1st place from the Yankees in advance of their three-day showdown at Rogers Centre starting tomorrow. Today, Toronto looks for the sweep of the Athletics at 12:37 p.m.
