Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will try to avoid the sweep at the hands of the Syracuse Chiefs on Thursday night. First pitch from NBT Bank Stadium is set for 7:05 p.m.

LHP Jesse Biddle (2-2, 4.88) gets the ball for manager Dave Brundage's squad in the series finale. The southpaw was tagged with the loss on Friday at Columbus when he gave up four runs on nine hits to go along with a walk and five strikeouts over five innings of work. Thus far in six starts with Lehigh Valley, opponents are hitting just .186 (8-43) against Biddle.

LHP Richard Bleier (3-1, 2.78) will be on the bump for the Chiefs. Bleier got the win in his last start after tossing a complete game shutout while allowing six hits and fanning a pair at Pawtucket on Friday. The southpaw was 8-3 with a 2.45 ERA in 16 G, 15 GS for Double-A Harrisburg this season. Back on April 15 at Coca-Cola Park, the Davie, Fla. native got a no-decision against the Pigs after allowing one run on four hits to go along with a strikeout over four innings of work.

Thus far over his first two games with the IronPigs, INF Tyler Pastornicky is 6-9 with three doubles, an RBI and two runs scored.
