Today's Game

Tonight, the Bisons open a 10-game homestand and a four-game series with the Syracuse Chiefs at Coca-Cola Field (7:05 p.m.). Buffalo is on a three-game losing streak, ending their road trip with 3-5 record. The Herd remains close to the top of the IL North as it only trail 1st place Syracuse by a game and a half.

The Thruway Cup

The Bisons (2-0) lead the 2014 Thruway Cup by a game over the second-place Syracuse (4-4). The Herd has not faced the Chiefs this year, but the two teams will play eight times in the next 12 days. Last season, Buffalo won 11 of the 16 match-ups with Syracuse.

Marcus Stroman

RHP MARCUS STROMAN will make his eighth start of the season with the Bisons tonight, his second since his two-week stint with Toronto. The righty leads all Bisons in strikeouts with 45 and has a 2.21 ERA in four starts at Coca-Cola Field. In his last start, Stroman allowed four runs in four innings of work in a defeat in Louisville.

Brad Glenn

Since May 16, OF BRAD GLENN has put together the 2nd longest hit streak the Bisons' have had this season. Over the 13-game stretch, Glenn is batting .460 (23-50), which is the highest batting average of any player in the IL with a streak over 11 games this year. The slugger has also added 10 RBI and six extra-base hits during the streak.

Bully in the Pen

In the month of May, the Bisons' bullpen has posted a 2.52 ERA over 85.2 innings. Buffalo relievers have also struck out 106 batters compared to only 21 walks this month, a K/BB ratio of 5.05. The pen has also posted a sub-1.00 WHIP since May 1st (0.95).

Darin Mastroianni

OF DARIN MASTROIANNI had two hits in the Bisons 3-2 loss to Indy last night. For the outfielder, it was his team-leading 11th multi-hit performance in 32 games with the Herd. Mastroianni also leads the Herd with 10 stolen bases on the year.

INF DAN JOHNSON leads the IL in both walks and on-base percentage (45, .438)...RHP BOBBY KORECKY has been scoreless in 21 of 22 relief appearances this season (0.29 ERA).

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (32-23) saw their nine-game win streak come to a close Thursday night with an 8-6 loss against Kansas City. Former Bison Anthony Gose had a multi-hit performance in the losing effort. Toronto is in first place in the AL East as they retain a 2.5 game lead over New York.
