Blue Jays Select the Contract of Bisons RHP Bobby Korecky

The Toronto Blue Jays today announced that they have selected the contract of Bisons RHP BOBBY KORECKY. The Blue Jays have also optioned LHP ROB RASMUSSEN to the Bisons.

KORECKY has been one of the International League's best relievers this season, allowing just one run in 31.0 innings over 22 appearances for a 0.29 ERA. In those 31.0 innings, Korecky has struck out 32 and allowed just 16 hits and eight walks. Korecky also leads all Bisons relievers with three wins (3-1 record) and five saves.

Korecky began the season with 17 scoreless outings before finally allowing a home run on May 17 in a loss to Lehigh Valley. Since then, Korecky has thrown four more consecutive scoreless outings since May 20.

RASMUSSEN made four scoreless relief appearances with the Blue Jays since his promotion to Toronto on May 20 (2.0 IP, 2 H, BB, 2 SO). In 13 outings with the Bisons this season, the southpaw is 0-1 with a 2.65 ERA and one save (17.0 IP, 12 H, 19 SO).
