Today's Game

This afternoon, the Bisons host the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders in the final game of a three-game series at Coca-Cola Field (1:05 p.m.). Today's game will also wrap up the Herd's first half of the season with teams having off three days for the Triple-A All-Star Game on Wednesday. The Bisons look for a three-game sweep of the RailRiders today after consecutive 5-4 wins over the last two days.

vs. the RailRiders

The Bisons are 7-4 against the RailRiders this season, having won seven of the last eight contests. Buffalo has not swept a series of at least three games from Scranton/Wilkes-Barre since they were the Red Barons, June 4(DH)-5, 1989. The teams will not meet again until a three-game series here in Buffalo, August 29-31.

Daniel Norris

LHP DANIEL NORRIS makes his 13th start today. The southpaw dominated Rochester last Tuesday with seven innings of one-run baseball. He struck out eight and walked none in snapping a personal seven-game losing streak. Norris has allowed three runs or less in 10 of his 12 starts this season.

MattVP

All-Star INF MATT HAGUE has 114 hits this season while no other hitter in the IL has reached century mark. His 36th multi-hit performance last night raised his average to .348, a whopping 31-point margin over the next best. Hague is now just eight plate appearances shy of reaching full-season qualification.

No Rest for Stars

INF MATT HAGUE and RHP GREGORY INFANTE will represent Buffalo in the 2015 Triple-A All-Star Game in Omaha, NE, the home of the PCL's Omaha Storm Chasers. The game on Wednesday, July 15 will air LIVE on the MLB Network and be carried on the radio home of the Buffalo Bisons, ESPN 1520 AM (8:00 p.m.).

OF ALEX HASSAN is batting .452 (14-31) over his last eight games. He has four doubles in his last four games...OF MELKY MESA has hit in seven straight, with a .364 (12-33) average since July 5...LHP JEFF FRANCIS (1.0 IP, 2 SO) earned the save in Team Canada's 4-1 win over the Dominican Republic in last night's Pan-Am Games opener. LHP ANDREW ALBERS (2.0 IP, H, R, 3 SO) also pitched as Canada defeated former Bisons' pitcher Claudio Vargas (5.2 IP, H, 2 R, BB, 5 SO).

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (45-45) defeated the Royals, 6-2, on Saturday with Edwin Encarnacion and Danny Valencia homering. Mark Buehrle earned the win with seven innings of work. The Blue Jays take on the Royals today at 2:10 p.m.
