Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

In the final game before the All-Star Break, the IronPigs (39-51) play the finale of a three-game set -- and of a five-game, home-and-home series -- against the Pawtucket Red Sox (39-51) at McCoy Stadium... With a 7-2 loss last night, the Pigs snapped their three-game winning streak and their four-gamer against the Paw Sox, who again tied them for fourth place in the North Division. Still, the Pigs have emerged victoriously in 10 of their last 13 affairs and 14 of their last 20 matchups with North opponents. In fact, Lehigh Valley is 18-10 in the last 28 contests after dropping 15 of 18 games from May 24 to June 11... The Paw Sox -- Boston's top affiliate -- won for the first time since 6/28, snapping a season-high, 11-game losing streak (the second longest skid in team history behind a 13-gamer from July 26-Aug. 6, 1985. The Sox are just 7-21 since June 16 and 21-41 since reaching their high-water mark of 18-10 on May 7.

LHP Anthony Vasquez (4-3, 5.01) will start for LHV against RHP Steven Wright (2-4, 3.60).

First Pitch is at 1:05 p.m.

The Pigs resume play Thursday with Game 1 of a four-game series at first-place Rochester (49-41), which has won five of its last seven contests since avoiding being swept by the Pigs on July 6.
