Today's Game

This afternoon, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders in the final game of a rain shortened-series at PNC Field (7:05 p.m.). The Bisons won on Friday night, 2-0, before the teams were rained out on Saturday. The Herd returns home tomorrow for a five-game homestand against Gwinnett and Syracuse.

vs. the RailRiders

The Bisons are 1-3 against the RailRiders this season. Buffalo was swept by Scranton/Wilkes-Barre earlier this month at Coca-Cola Field, June 8-10. The Herd has gone 4-4 on the road against the RailRiders in each of the past three seasons.

Felix Doubront

LHP FELIX DOUBRONT matched season highs with seven innings and eight strikeouts in a no-decision last Saturday in Syracuse. The southpaw allowed just three runs on four hits in the outing. Though winless in eight starts with the Bisons, Doubront has allowed more than three runs just once since joining the Herd on early May. Opponents are hitting just .208 off Doubront this year.

MattVP

INF MATT HAGUE had the big hit on Friday night as his eighth-inning RBI-single broke the scoreless tie. Hague .344 average is 21 points higher than any other batter in the IL. He also tops the IL in hits (95) and on-base pct. (.426). He is tied for 2nd in doubles (20) and runs scored (39) and 3rd in total bases (129), RBI (46) and slugging pct. (.467).

Roster Move

RHP BLAKE McFARLAND has been promoted to the team from New Hampshire (AA). The righty led all Eastern League relievers with 12.30 K/9.0 IP ratio with 41 strikeouts in only 30.0 IP. McFarland was 2-1 with a 2.10 ERA and 10 saves for the FisherCats. LHP COLT HYNES has been transferred to Double-A.

Bisons Bits

Yesterday's rainout will be made up as a split day-night doubleheader at PNC Field on Sunday, July 5...The Bisons are a league-best 26-4 (.862) when scoring first in games...Buffalo's win on Friday was in their 17th shutout game of the season (5-12). That amounts to one team not scoring in almost a quarter (22.7%) of their games this year...INF MUNENORI KAWASAKI was activated to the Bisons yesterday.

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (40-36) were shutout 4-0 on three hits by the Rangers on Saturday. Former Bison Matt Boyd made his MLB debut and allowed four runs in 6.2 innings of work in the loss. He did strike out seven batters. Toronto hosts Texas for the rubbermatch of their three-game set today at 1:07 p.m.
