PAWTUCKET, RI - Carlos Fisher issued a bases-loaded walk to Sean Coyle in the bottom of the 11th inning, handing the Pawtucket Red Sox (38-39) a 3-2 win over the Gwinnett Braves (37-38) Sunday afternoon at McCoy Stadium. The PawSox won the series two games to one.

Fisher, who pitched a perfect bottom of the 10th to force an 11th inning, began the final frame by giving up an infield single to Allen Craig. Travis Shaw then bunted Craig to second forcing Gwinnett to intentionally walk Garin Cecchini to set up a potential double play. But Fisher (L, 1-3) walked Jemile Weeks to load the bases, and, after striking out Luis Martinez for the second out, walked Coyle on four pitches to end the game.

Gwinnett broke open a scoreless game with a two-run top of the fourth. Jose Peraza lifted a one-out single to right off Pawtucket starter Joe Kelly, stole second base and scored on a single to right by Eric Young, Jr. Pawtucket right fielder Quentin Berry misplayed the hit, allowing Young to take second. After a groundout to second by Cedric Hunter moved Young to third, Christian Bethancourt plated him with a single to center for a 2-0 lead.

The lead held up until the bottom of the sixth, when the G-Braves brought in Sugar Ray Marimon from the bullpen to replace starting pitcher Greg Smith. Marimon quickly gave up a single to Berry on his first pitch. Rehabbing Boston outfielder Shane Victorino then hit a bouncer to the mound that deflected off Marimon's pitching hand and to shortstop Daniel Castro. Castro completed the play to erase Victorino, but Berry moved to second on the play.

Marimon could not continue, so right-hander Peter Moylan was summoned to replace him. Moylan walked Rusney Castillo and hit Shaw with a pitch to load the bases, and Cecchini followed with a two-run single to tie the game at 2-2.

Both pitching staffs held their ground after that until the winning run in the bottom of the 11th.

Smith was stellar in a no-decision for Gwinnett, pitching 5.0 scoreless, three-hit innings and striking out five. He extended his team-best scoreless streak to 19.2 innings, including 17.0 innings as a starter. Marimon lasted a third of an inning with one hit and one earned run. Moylan went 1.2 innings with one run on three hits, one walk, a hit batter and four strikeouts. David Carpenter continued his fine bullpen work with 2.0 scoreless innings, one hit, one walk and four strikeouts. Fisher worked 1.2 innings with one earned run on one hit, three walks and two strikeouts.

For Pawtucket, Kelly pitched 7.0 strong innings with five hits, two runs (one earned), one walk and five strikeouts. Dayan Diaz worked 3.0 innings with one hit, two walks and four strikeouts. Noe Ramirez (W, 4-0) pitched a scoreless, hitless top of the 11th.

Offensively for Gwinnett, Bethancourt went 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Peraza went 2-for-5 with a run scored. Bethancourt, Peraza and Young all recorded stolen bases.

Cecchini led Pawtucket with a 2-for-4 day including two RBIs. Weeks was 2-for-3 with a double.

The Gwinnett Braves continue the road trip with a three-game series against the Buffalo Bisons, Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays. Game one Monday is set for 7:05 p.m. Right-hander Mike Foltynewicz (0-4, 3.86) is slated to start for the G-Braves, while the Bisons will counter with right-hander Scott Copeland (4-1, 1.97). Tony Schiavone has the play-by-play call on 97.7 FM and WSBRadio.com beginning at 6:30 p.m.
