Game One

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs dropped a 6-1 decision to the Louisville Bats in game one of a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon.

Trailing 2-1, Lehigh Valley loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the sixth, but Jumbo Diaz was able to fan Russ Canzler and get Chris McGuiness to pop out to short to escape the jam.

The game was scoreless until the top of the fourth when Kristopher Negron's solo shot off of Pigs starter Jason Berken gave the Bats a 1-0 lead. It was Negron's first home run of the season.

Berken (4-5) allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits to go along with three walks (one IBB) and four strikeouts over six innings of work.

Aaron Altherr's solo shot in the home half of the inning tied things at one apiece for the Pigs. It was the first home run of his Triple-A career.

Louisville took the lead in the top of the sixth as Yorman Rodriguez reached on a fielder's choice and error charged to Berken that allowed Negron to score and give the visitors a 2-1 advantage. Negron had drawn a leadoff walk in the inning.

The Bats added four insurance runs in the seventh to take a 6-1 lead as Jose Constanza drew a one-out walk, moved to third on a single and scored on Negron's sac fly, Josh Satin plated a pair with a two-run double off the wall in right centerfield and Brennan Boesch delivered an RBI single. All four runs were charged to RHP Seth Rosin (1.0 IP, 3 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB).

Lehigh Valley was limited to just two hits in the game: Altherr's home run and a single by Jordan Danks in the seventh.

The Pigs took an early 1-0 lead in the second as Canzler reached with a leadoff single, moved to second on a walk and scored on Logan Moore's RBI single.
