Bisons Are No Match for 'Pigs

(Buffalo, NY) - The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (62-51) erased Tuesday's loss in a big way on Wednesday evening as they defeated the Buffalo Bisons (60-52) 15-4. The IronPigs recorded 17 hits and saw every batter in their lineup record at least one hit in the game.

The IronPigs scored four runs in the top of the third inning to take a 4-0 lead against Buffalo. Johan Camargo hit a two-run double against Bowden Francis (5-9) to score Dalton Guthrie and Yairo Munoz. Scott Kingery followed with a two-run single against Graham Spraker that scored Camargo and Josh Ockimey.

The Bisons were able to score a run against Michael Plassmeyer in the bottom of the fourth inning to cut Lehigh Valley's lead to 4-1. Otto Lopez hit an RBI single that would score Logan Warmoth.

The IronPigs proceeded to answer with eight runs in the top of the fifth inning to take a 12-1 lead. Ali Castillo got the offense going against Adrian Hernandez by hitting an RBI single that scored Chris Sharpe. Jack Conley followed up with an RBI single that scored Kingery. Munoz then hit an RBI double that scored Conley. Hayden Juenger entered the game to pitch in relief of Hernandez and proceeded to give up a two-run double to Dustin Peterson. Camargo then hit an RBI single to score Peterson and Sharpe added the final run of the inning with an RBI double.

Lehigh Valley scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning against Jackson Rees to extend their lead to 15-1. Munoz hit a two-run double and Peterson added an RBI single. The Bisons scored two runs against Erik Miller in the bottom of the eighth inning. Rafael Lantigua and LJ Talley each hit an RBI double. Buffalo scored a run against Francisco Morales in the bottom of the ninth inning to cut the IronPigs lead to 15-4.

Bubby Rossman (3-1) earned the win for Lehigh Valley as he pitched two scoreless innings with four strikeouts in relief of Plassmeyer.

The IronPigs and Bisons will play again on Thursday afternoon at Sahlen Field. First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 p.m.
